She will also push for practical transit improvements that benefit commuters, students, workers, and families, while ensuring bike and pedestrian infrastructure is thoughtfully integrated.

Protect and Enhance our Greenspaces & Parks

As Calgary’s housing market grows, Shawna will fight for responsible development that prioritizes the needs of Ward One residents. She will champion mixed-use housing that complements existing neighborhoods, ensures proper infrastructure, and offers affordable housing options for families and seniors - and she'll work to repeal blanket zoning.

Shawna will also advocate for greater accountability for landlords to keep rental properties safe and well-maintained.

A Safer, Stronger, and More Secure Ward One

Shawna is committed to addressing public safety concerns by advocating for targeted crime prevention, improved community policing, and increased investment in mental health crisis response teams.

She will work to improve emergency response times and ensure residents receive timely help when needed.
